A commemorative paving stone was laid in Buckden, Cambridgeshire this month to mark 100 years since the posthumous award of the VC to Captain John Green.
There was extensive involvement from the Cambridgeshire ACF, Kimbolton School CCF, the ATC and representatives of the Reserves.
People have been taking part in #Somme100 initiatives across the region to remember and honour those lost in WW1, including phtographing memorials with Operation Norfolk Remembers and social media campaigns like Walter Carter @WW1SoldiersTale where we follow a soldier's journey as he tweets about it 'live', give or take a century.
